Out with the old and in with the new

It's been awhile so I will try to bring my blog up to speed with a few assorted entries. First off we took about a week in late April to repaint the cupboards in our kitchen, the master bath and our double stairway. We were starting to look like "white trash" and in need of an intervention ...big time! It was a pain to have to clear out all of the cupboards, wash them inside and out, then put everything back when the paint was dry. But in the end it was all worth it to have a beautiful kitchen once again.

This was the kitchen after the counters were cleared and the cupboards were empty.
My poor dining room! Who knew you could store so much junk in one kitchen? And this is just the tip of the iceburg. Truly amazing!
Oh boy ...here we go! This is where it began to look like a constuction zone.
This is our new fridge ...under cover. Not to worry, you'll get to see it in the big reveal. We finally had to face reality and admit the old one was beyond repair. It only took 4 different repair men and $$$ to convince us!
I know, I know it's only April but ...this is Houston! So with all of the humidity we had a delay of game because the paint wouldn't dry!
This is just after they gave the stairs a second coat of paint. Not bad even with the tape still in place. And now ...for the reveal!
Taaa Daaaaah ...Sweet!
Oops! Don't pay any attention to the dirty dish in the sink.

It may be hard to tell from the pictures with an untrained eye but this is a major improvement. I'm talking about cracked and faded paint here! It's really true when they say that the kitchen is the heart of the home. We really missed the "old girl" while she was down and out and it's soooo nice to have her back!
